Hello, I downloaded an image .vmdk from a repository and wanted to import it into my oVirt infrastructure. Is it possible? If it is possible how? Thanks, Massimo
you need a running vmware server (esxi I believe) which runs your vmdk image as a vm. you can then connect to this vmware server and convert the vm with the virt-v2v tool for ovirt, there is good documentation for the exact process on the web and on this MLs archives. I know this is really much overhead for just converting an image but afaik it's the only supported way to do this. there is a bug with an request for enhancement to make this process simpler, you could add yourself to the cc list, to encourage the devs to pick this topic up faster (currently nobody works on this!): https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1049604 -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Regards Sven Kieske Systemadministrator Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co.
