Might be fastest to simply put a generic purpose disk cloning tool like Clonezilla in the virtual CD drive and use that to take/restore a disk image. Understands file systems and only copies the parts of the disk that are actually in use, instead of the entire thing. Yours sincerely, Floris Bos
