Re: [ovirt-users] missing hvc0 device on hosted engine

Thank you for your response. I installed the ovirt-hosted-engine-ha and ovirt-hosted-engine-setup RPMs from the snapshot link you sent me onto the two hosts that can host the engine. I re-ran engine-setup on the engine just in case and rebooted the two hosts capable of hosting the engine and the engine itself. I am now able to run the "hosted-engine --console" command successfully but since the 4.1 upgrade the console button in the toolbar for the hosted engine is dimmed in the GUI. That is still the case. Is that expected behavior with 4.1 or is there some other issue going on? Also, when I use the command "ssh -t -p 2222 ovirt-vmconsole@engine," I get a menu of VMs that I can choose from and get a serial console to them. That option has never worked for the hosted engine. The engine shows up as a menu item but selecting it yields a socket error.
