The other instructions are valid and it solved my problem.
can you please add debian case with the instructions that worked for you on https://ovirt.org/documentation/vmm-guide/chap-Installing_Linux_Virtual_Mach... ? just click on the "Edit this page" link in the bottom and you'll be able to edit the page and send a push request via Git Hub.
