Exception: VDSNetworkException: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" I dont have a vdsm service on the nodes. before you wrote that you can't ping but you can ssh so that's a progress :) look at the engine log and check the vdsm service status on the host (you can even restart it)

check iptables. in any case, you have a communication problem between the engine and the hosts. when engine cannot get status on the vdsm, hosts will move to non-responsive.
