okay, i can see it now, the reason for that is lack of protocol in your URL: it has to be http(s)://localhost:8080/api
also i suggest you trying ovirt-engine-cli-2.0-3 anyway as it have few cool features (attached - in case it yet not available at release/nightly repos)
