For the engine you can do a regular installation and then add the following to /etc/sysconfig/ovirt-engine: ENGINE_DEBUG_ADDRESS=you_ip:your_port Then restart the engine. That will start the Java virtual machine with support for remote debugging. Make sure that the firewall lets you connect to that address and port.
