I’ve done it with no ill effects. Can be useful for troubleshooting or clearing a stuck VM if the engine is down, but I don’t recommend doing much with it if your engine is up and running.

Its a production environment, screwing up anything is not an option. I have no idea how VDSM interacts with libvirt, so not sure about this.
