Does vsdm go on the management server? VDSM is only required on the management server if you are installing using the allinone (AIO) plugin, in which case it will install the package automatically.
as steve specified, vdsm is not needed on engine (management server). vdsm-bootstrap rpm is needed, but it is required by ovirt-engine rpm's.
