I have done this and it solves the issue. However, the next issue I found was that the host was not able to join a = 3.3 cluster (i.e. the "default" cluster). At this point, I went back to F18.

I personally have a F19 host working against 3.3 engine. Could you de= tail =20 what doesn't work, and possibly attach engine and VDSM logs when an =20 operation fails? =20
It seems to be an instance of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3D973179 =20 Anaconda created a wrongly named and wrongly configured ifcfg file. =20 biosdevname said the device is em1 but the ifcfg file created by anacon= da is =20 ifcfg-eno1 (and the content refers to that name). =20
The best way to solve this is to create an ifcfg file from scratch like= the following: =20
DEVICE=3Dem1 =20 BOOTPROTO=3Ddhcp =20 ONBOOT=3Dyes =20 NM_CONTROLLED=3Dno =20 HWADDR=3DXX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX # replace X with em1's HWADDR =20
Then for extra safety, stop and mask Network Manager. And then deploy. =20

At the end, I could not make an F19 Fedora host work against a 3.3 engine. I =20 suggest someone from the eng team has a look at it. some stuff just d= oes not =20 work there. =20
=20
Therefore, I downgraded the fedora host to F18. On the engine side, I= got the =20 following error message : =20 Host lab2 is compatible with versions (3.0,3.1,3.2) and cannot join Cluster =20 Default which is set to version 3.3. =20 Don't know what is to be set.... =20
=20
Anyway, I created a 3.2 cluster and installed the host into it. Seems= to work =20 (the host is up). =20
=20
Thanks again for support. =20

=20
According to the output of 'nics' element, the 'em1' device is miss= ing his =20 default gateway entry under the 'cfg' element. =20
=20
One reason for that can be there is no =20 '/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-em1' =20 file and vdsm fails to obtain the default gateway for it. =20
=20
Could you create this file by your own and retry installing the hos= t ? =20 After creating the file (make sure it contains NM_CONTROLLED=3Dno), restart =20 the =20 network service =20 and run 'vdsClient -s 0 getVdsCaps' to make sure 'em1' output conta= ins the =20 data its 'cfg' sub- =20 element. =20
