The thing is that export doesn't copy the direct lun. About snapshots,
can it be done if the lun has lvm? I used to make a sort of live backup
using lvm snapshots with this luns, maybe this can be done within ovirt
in a future version.

so as explained, snapshot are currently not supported for shared disks
and for direct lun disks.
export of direct lun disk should work though.
