You're probably looking at x2pic cpu flag problems. A vdsm hook might help. Have
posted to proxmox forum about this. Also, solaris seems affected, has been discussed on
this list.
For Solaris I wrote a hook which can be found here (works fine for
Solaris 10/11 on Intel CPUs):

Don't know if this is needed for (older versions of) FreeBSD, too.
