Hello Michal,
this is the problem, it does not work in the UI with noVNC or the downloadable VNC config as stated. I do not tried it directly to the host, I used the oVirt functions.

Hello oVirt users,
I am evaluating oVirt at the moment and have an issue with the VNC access of the VMs. Direct console access (with Realvnc viewer) and noVNC is not possible. The window is closed directly or for noVNC only the message "Loading" is shown.
oVirt 4 was installed on CentOS 7.3, engine and node on different machines. I now installed oVirt 3.6 with the all in one option on one CentOS 7.3 x64 and have the same issue. I also checked, if the VM is running in KVM with virsh command, if all ports are open (5900, 6100) and responding, the CA certificate is installed and the services are running. When I try to connect with Realvnc viewer a password is requested, if I state a wrong one a message is shown, that the access was wrong, if I enter the correct, the window is closed.
Do you have any ideas, why it is not working? Yes, you can't access it directly bypassing the security layer added by oVirt. Use rest api to get the connection info with temporary access ticket. Or open console from UI
Thanks

Hi Matthias, Couple of questions: - Im not really sure if RealVNC works correctly with .vv files etc. Could you please try to use remote-viewer? - if you try to e.g. telnet from your client machine (where you are opening the remote-viewer) to the hypervisor where the VM is running on on the port you find in the .vv file, does it work? (e.g. in webadmin click to console, download the .vv file, open in text editor and use the host/port from there but try to connect using telnet. Does that work?) thanx, Tomas On Sun, Jan 8, 2017 at 5:25 PM, "Matthias Müller" <matthiasmueller07@web.de> wrote:

Hello Tomas, I have not used the .vv files, I only downloaded them to see the direct server settings. As I wrote, the conenction to the server is possible, it asked for the password, if I enter the correct one the window is directly closed without an error message. If I enter a wrong password, the message is shown, that it is not correct. So connection/check seems working correctly. With noVNC only "Loading" is shown, no further message. this part looks like an issue with your client. Any reason not to use remote-viewer? Maybe try to look into the logs of your client?
With noVNC only "Loading" is shown, no further message.
do you have the websocket proxy up and running and reachable?
Does the information help?

Hi Matthias,
Couple of questions: - Im not really sure if RealVNC works correctly with .vv files etc. Does that work?)
thanx, Tomas

Hi. I found noVNC only worked after I imported the ovirt CA cert into my browser. Did you do that?

Thanks
