oVirt Host EL9 with UEFI Secure Boot

Hi there! Is this information still valid? To use Enterprise Linux 9 on virtualization hosts, the UEFI Secure Boot option must be disabled due to *Bug 2081648 - dmidecode module fails to decode DMI data <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2081648>*. I read that it was fixed in *python-dmidecode-3.12.3-1.el9* but we still use *python-3.11*. Is this bug only for hosted-engine or for standalone too? BR. -- Att, Jorge Visentini +55 55 98432-9868

Given the bug has been fixed it shouldn ow work fine with UEFI Secure Boot on EL9 as well. Can you please give it a try and report back? Il giorno gio 20 lug 2023 alle ore 23:22 Jorge Visentini < jorgevisentini@gmail.com> ha scritto:

Hi, Sandro. Yesterday I installed the oVirt Node 4.5.5 version ( *ovirt-node-ng-installer-4.5.5-2023071207.el9.iso*) and it *worked perfectly*. No errors, no incompatibilities. I can say, quickly in my tests, that in terms of drivers/modules, this version 4.5.5 el9 is very good. I needed to switch from el8 to el9 because of incompatibility between *Cascadelake Family* processors and *libvirt-8.x*. For information, my environment is fully SAN Fiber Channel and it worked fine in these first tests. kernel-5.14.0-333.el9.x86_64 python3.11-3.11.4-1.el9.x86_64 ansible-core-2.15.0-1.el9.x86_64 ovirt-ansible-collection-3.1.3-0.1.master.20230420113738.el9.noarch libvirt-9.3.0-2.el9.x86_64 ovirt-engine-appliance-4.5-20230712064015.1.el9.x86_64 ovirt-release-host-node-4.5.5-0.0.master.20230612064150.git0c65b0e.el9.x86_64 ovirt-release-master-4.5.5-0.0.master.20230612064154.git0c65b0e.el9.noarch Have a nice weekend!
