Hosts' ip can be safely changed only before deployment. In your case , it would be better if you start from scratch and reinstall the host with a new image, set the IP and then redeploy the HostedEngine (both with correct VLANs). What kind of data domain do you use. Maybe it will be easier to change that than a redeploy. I would recommend you to keep all Vm configs on a separate location, so you will be able to use virsh to start the VMs all by yourself (until you recover yoour Hosted Engine in a hypothetical failiure). Libvirt has ( in one of it's dirs ) all running VMs' configs - so just back them up. Also, virsh requires a pass in order to be able to execute commands. I use this alias on all my hosts: virsh='virsh -c qemu:///system?authfile=/etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/virsh_auth.conf' Then you can test with 'virsh list' (don't forget to "source" your .bashrc).
