[Users] OVirt Node must run on FQDN box as well?

The docs clearly state that the OVirt Engine must run on a box that is fully DNSed, both forward and backward. I've done that but am having trouble connecting a Node box that is not DNSed but does have a static IP. Do I need to DNS the Node box as well? Thanx, Garth

there was something about an older libvirt api requiring this for live migration, but iirc, it is no longer needed.

As per Itamar's response this relates to an issue with the version of libvirt that we originally released on, as I understand it even where this applies though not having an FQDN for the node(s) only impacts migration. Not being able to connect the node at all sounds like a different issue. Steve

In my configuration, I added all the IP to hostname mappings to "/etc/hosts" file in all oVirt node and oVirt engine server. Migration worked fine for me. On 2012-3-26 21:58, Steve Gordon wrote:
