Looking forward to ovirt first release on Jan 31th. we would like all to participate in oVirt test day on the 16Th. This would be an opportunity to exercise a oVirt for the upcoming release. Each Test Day brings something unique and you're encouraged to join and share your ideas, tests, and results. all needed information is available in http://www.ovirt.org/wiki/Testing/OvirtTestDay please review it, subscribe and have fun with it. Hi, Tests include ENGINE and VDSM on RHEL 6.2? I tried using the oVirt-node on a machine UEFI and not succeeded. I would like to test the NODE in a minimum installation of RHEL 6.2 2012/1/11 Moran Goldboim <mgoldboi@redhat.com>

What? I try to install vdsm of RedHat repositories and it seems they were removed in RHEL 6.2. The oVirt-engine can manage RHEL 6 nodes? Em 13 de janeiro de 2012 10:47, André Felício <andre@felicio.com.br> escreveu:

VDSM is available for RHEL 6.2, and the engine should be able to work with it, with few changes, but that's not really a scenario we are targeting right now. Specifically, need to change the machine type. Y.

vdsm downstream is not shipped in the rhel 6.2 repo, it has a different channel.

Engine on Fedora (or whatever other distribution that is working for you). I don't think RHEL would work right now with upstream. VDSM can be on either, but the same preference as above, for the time being.

Please try with legacy mode (non UEFI, as can be set via the machine's BIOS). Y.

Ack on what Yaniv said. If you take a look at node-devel list, we are actively working to get UEFI working with oVirt Node, however there are some very tricky technical issues that are making this not properly work. See thread starting here: http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/node-devel/2012-January/000073.html Until we get patches posted to enable UEFI in grub on livecds/oVirt Node, please revert your BIOS to legacy mode. Also note that grub2 (which is supposed to replace grub) in Fedora 16/rawhide does not yet work with UEFI at all (you are forced to use legacy grub packages if you're on a UEFI system). So UEFI issues are not limited to just the Node. Perry

Due to a late re-base we have decided to defer the testday in 2 days to Wednesday Jan 18th. Sorry for the late notice, hope to see you all there. Moran. On 01/11/2012 03:35 PM, Moran Goldboim wrote:

Not that I mind the test day being moved, but how was it decided to move the test day? I don't see any discussion on any of the various lists (at list, that I'm on). We are planning on participating and would have liked to provide some input in the decision. Regards, Anthony Liguori

Anthony, this issue has been discussed at oVirt Weekly Sync Meeting on Jan 11th, in which it was decided that if a late branching will happen testday will be deferred by one or two days. Moran.

Note: For those who don't attend the meetings minutes get sent to board@ovirt.org (possibly other lists as well). The minutes from that particular meeting are here: http://ovirt.org/meetings/ovirt/2012/ovirt.2012-01-11-15.01.html Thanks, Steve
