Did you choose SPICE in the console options? And no, this is not by design.
Ok my bad, I just asked a colleague and he told me that SPICE is not supported at the moment. Seems like that we haven't had the spice drivers yet for it. Sorry for the confusion. So it's correct that you can only have VNC or RDP.
