oVirt Cloud Init CentOS not setting password

So I've checked the "Use CloudInit/Sysprep" and set the root user & password but it doesn't seem to apply. I can't login after setting it and also running "Run Once" as well.

Can you please open a bug on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?classification=oVirt so we can track this? Please provide steps to reproduce this, in particular which CentOS image you used.

Okay, I'm confused does it take time for cloud init to apply? Because leaving the VM booted for a few minutes it will eventually work

I have this same issue with one of my cloud-init centos vms. I log in using ssh keys, the root password was never set and there seems to be no way for me to set it. On Thu, Feb 7, 2019 at 10:32 AM Robert Crawford < robert.crawford4.14.10@gmail.com> wrote:

I just use the run-one setup to specify the user/pass and networking/hostname. Everything works but the password doesn't. side note, does anyone know, now that I have this machine with no root password, how to set one? *Vincent Royer* *778-825-1057* <http://www.epicenergy.ca/> *SUSTAINABLE MOBILE ENERGY SOLUTIONS* On Thu, Feb 7, 2019 at 8:40 PM Strahil <hunter86_bg@yahoo.com> wrote:
Hey Vincent , Robert,
I have tries cloud-init and it works as expected. Of course, you need to install and enable the cloud-init service in your template.
How exactly are you trying to use cloud-init ?
Best Regards, Strahil Nikolov

So what I noticed is that in the logs it referenced the external IP of my oVirt instance, I set the dns on the client to the correct DNS and it would appear that the issue has cleared up.
