[Users] question on storage and host

I have a server I want to use that has 8 storage bays and is an 8 core intel xeon 16 gigs of ram. I want to use the board and processors for virtual machines and storage separately. First can I do this? Second I am using ovirt node and it has remote storage iSCSI address assignment can I do it that way? My main reason is I want to use processors and storage. not sure i understood the question/use case: you can run virtual machines on the host from a remote shared storage (nfs, iscsi, etc.) and use the local disks for anything else. if i didn't answer, please clarify the use case.
