When you go to Edit VM -> System -> Advanced Parameters (right hand side) -> Custom Compatibility Version do you have the option for 4.2 ?If yes, can you set it to 4.2 and then poweroff + poweron the VM ? Sometimes, in the first time after the device hungs up, the message "no buffer space available" comes from ping.
