There may be some major incompatibilities im not aware of, but with at least 2CPU's in
the same family, I don't think you would be losing much if any.

plus if you really really need later cpu features for a specific VM which you would pin on
this special host you can always use VM setting of Host CPU Passthrough which just uses
all instructions the host has.
