what is the best practices to delete vdisks in 100% used gluster stoargedoamin
Hi Team In my one of three node Hyperconverged (gluster + ovirt) setup, one of the storage domain went offline from Datacenter due to 100% storage space utilization, but luckily it is still online in Gluster. how should I properly delete some of the vdisks in that offline stoarge domain from Gluster and bring back to online?
Usually, gluster has the following options:cluster.min-free-diskcluster.min-free-inodes The cluster.min-free-disk is set to 10% which means that you have the option to: - Identify VMs/disks/objects that can be quickly deleted (snapshot deletion is not fast enough)- set the option to lower percent- Immediately delete the identified objects Another option is to increase the brick disk space or adding a new set of bricks (and automatically converting the volume to 'distributed-replicated') and rebalance the whole volume. The second approach (adding more space either by adding new bricks + rebalance, or via expanding existing bricks) is far more safer and straight forward. Hi Strahil Nikolov Thank you so much all your valuable input. Finally resolved the issue with below actions 1) shutdown all the vms running in the volume, 2) temporarily created new folders in another hdd drive ( in all three hosts) where it had enough free space 3) expanded the issue volume by adding those new folders as a new bricks ( volume changed from replicate to distributed replicate ) 4) brought up the storage domain online and moved the over utilized disks to another storage domain 5) removed the new bricks now all are back to original setup.
Can you show the current volume info ? If it's still distributed-replicated, you need to rebalance.
