We used to have bug that made ovirt-shell fail when there wasn't a tty available (like when running from cron): ovirt-shell cannot run in cron (/dev/tty missing) https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1119412 That was fixed in version 3.5.0.2, so make sure that you have at least that version.
