* We will re-use the workshop-pc mailing list for proposals and discussion. There was an open discussion point about what our subscription and posting policy should be for the list - I suggest that non-members may post to the list, and anyone can subscribe.
with the amount of spam on other lists, please have this one moderated as well. i haven't seen many/any CFP lists which are open on their discussions on papers, rather just accepted/not accepted in the end? Unless I am very much mistaken, the list archives are private and posts by non-members are moderated.
I was suggestiong changing this - I don't think it's very nice, when you're sending a proposal for a presentation, to get a message saying "this email is being held in moderation". Can we change the moderation email to say "Thank you for your submission, we will get back to you shortly"? Otherwise, I would suggest that we not moderate email posted to the list, while retaining moderated membership and private archives. Ah, thank you for the context. I am in complete agreement with you. Regarding changing the list autoreply re: moderation, I can imagine this is possible but Karsten would know better.
Karsten, thoughts?
We would run the risk of receiving spam through the list, but in conjunction with the planned spam filtering which Kevin proposed to put in place, and which Karsten will set him up to do, that might not be a problem for long.
Cheers, Dave.
