Hi.
I have created a new storage domain (data domain, storage type nfs) to use it to upload iso images.
I have so uploaded a new iso and then attach the iso to a new vm.
But when I try to boot the vm I obtain this error:
booting from dvd/cd... boot failed: could not read from cdrom (code 0005) no bootable device
The iso file has been uploaded with success in the data storage domain and so the vm lets my attach the iso to the vm in the boot settings.
Can you help me?
I've been meaning to report this myself. Find the location of the ISO image in the storage domain (search for the UUID in the file system) and re-copy the ISO over the top of the file. Just be 100% sure it's the ISO and not a VM disk (reference modification time, size etc). Once you replace the "uploaded" file with the ISO directly, everything works as expected. The cause I've found is that when uploading through the UI, the *ISO gets converted to a qcow2 image*, but *gets attached to the VM as an ISO*. You can confirm this by using qemu-img info <ISO disk path in filesystem>
