oVirt nVidia vGPU driver questions

I'm on oVirt 4.2.6. 1) If I have a Tesla P4 (Pascal) GPU (non-GRID), do I use nVidia vGPU driver for RHEL KVM 6.2 or the Linux KVM vGPU 6.2 driver? 2) If I have a Grid K1 or K2, I assume the correct driver would be GRID 4.7? 3) Must the vGPU driver be installed on the host & in the vm? 4) Must the vGPU driver be installed first before I can run "yum -y install vdsm-hook-vfio-mdev”

itf it’s not a GRID-capable card then you can only use GPU Passthrough (the whole card) to the guest That doesn’t require any drivers, just a proper PCI pasthrough capability and enablement in Host edit dialog (and some kernel cmdline changes depending on your hw). It has nothing to do with mdev/vGPU then.
2) If I have a Grid K1 or K2, I assume the correct driver would be GRID 4.7?
not sure what are the latest, whatever is on nvidia site as latest available should work
3) Must the vGPU driver be installed on the host & in the vm?
for vGPU yes. Make sure you install the host one on host and guest driver to the guest. it’s easy to mix it up.
4) Must the vGPU driver be installed first before I can run "yum -y install vdsm-hook-vfio-mdev”
no hooks required as of 4.2.6. Just skip that part Thanks, michal

5) When will there be proper support for the newer non-GRID GPU's? 6) GPU passthrough: where can we find info on "proper PCI pasthrough capability and enablement in Host edit dialog (and some kernel cmdline changes depending on your hw)"? Are the current Tesla P4 and P40 GPUs considered non-GRID? Will these cards support vGPU?

Configure LV Cache: what do we enter for SSD? What happens if my disks are already all SSD, https://ggstreetview.com do I still benefit from using this? I don't think you need to use LVM Cache if you are already using SSDs or LVMe. LVM Cache is meant for to improve performance over HDDs by combining with SSD as cache device.

I really happy found this website eventually. Really informative and inoperative, Thanks for the post and effort! Please keep sharing more such blog. http://mcafeeactivateretailcardnow.com http://nortoncomsetupkey.com http://officecomsetupproductkey.com
