Unable to install oVirt on RHEL7.5
Hi All, I am unable to install oVirt on RHEL7.5, to install it I am taking reference of below link, https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/install-guide/chap-Installing_oVirt.html But though it is not working for me, couple of dependencies is not getting installed, and because of this I am not able to run the ovirt-engine, below are the depencies packages that unable to install, Error: Package: collectd-write_http-5.8.0-6.1.el7.x86_64 (@ovirt-4.2-centos-opstools) Requires: collectd(x86-64) = 5.8.0-6.1.el7 Removing: collectd-5.8.0-6.1.el7.x86_64 (@ovirt-4.2-centos-opstools) collectd(x86-64) = 5.8.0-6.1.el7 Updated By: collectd-5.8.1-1.el7.x86_64 (epel) collectd(x86-64) = 5.8.1-1.el7 Available: collectd-5.7.2-1.el7.x86_64 (ovirt-4.2-centos-opstools) collectd(x86-64) = 5.7.2-1.el7 Available: collectd-5.7.2-3.el7.x86_64 (ovirt-4.2-centos-opstools) collectd(x86-64) = 5.7.2-3.el7 Available: collectd-5.8.0-2.el7.x86_64 (ovirt-4.2-centos-opstools) collectd(x86-64) = 5.8.0-2.el7 Available: collectd-5.8.0-3.el7.x86_64 (ovirt-4.2-centos-opstools) collectd(x86-64) = 5.8.0-3.el7 Available: collectd-5.8.0-5.el7.x86_64 (ovirt-4.2-centos-opstools) collectd(x86-64) = 5.8.0-5.el7 Help me to install this. Help me to install this.
Please disable epel repository. I'm investigating on why collectd 5.8.1 is not getting published in centos, discussion ongoing here: https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2018-December/017147.html EPEL repository ships packages that may collide with those shipped in CentOS and oVirt so if you need EPEL, please filter only the packages you need by adding includepkgs directive in EPEL repo config file.
Looking forward to resolve this issue.

Looks like you didn't install ovirt-release42 rpm because you're missing the dependency repos. Can you please yum install https://resources.ovirt.org/pub/yum-repo/ovirt-release42.rpm this will set up your repos.

Having issue while running ovirt-release42.rpm [root@ip-172-31-37-6 ec2-user]# yum install ovirt-release42.rpm Loaded plugins: amazon-id, product-id, rhui-lb, search-disabled-repos, subscription-manager This system is not registered with an entitlement server. You can use subscription-manager to register. Examining ovirt-release42.rpm: ovirt-release42-4.2.7-1.el7.noarch ovirt-release42.rpm: does not update installed package. Error: Nothing to do asking for subscription, I am using free tier aws instance. Is there any way to install ovirt on this aws instance. Looking forward for your reply. Regards Sumit Sahay
itf it’s not a GRID-capable card then you can only use GPU Passthrough (the whole card) to the guest That doesn’t require any drivers, https://happywheels2.io online just a proper PCI pasthrough capability and enablement in Host edit dialog (and some kernel cmdline changes depending on your hw). It has nothing to do with mdev/vGPU then.
