That's interesting, I thought people were perhaps using them for
visual filter ("I see that is part of this list by the subject line"),
but I didn't know you could get a different presentation filtering. So
this would be different than moving it to a folder? Is it something
automatic?

(I usually use reliable headers, such as x-been-there, for filtering
mailing lists, since subject lines are inconsistent. Also, I tend to
avoid [Listname] in the subject because it's always a prefix, which
shortens how much of the actual subject is visible in the mail client.)
