Algumas perguntas:

- Qual e' a permissao do arquivo .netrc? 0600?
- Como esta o formato do teu arquivo .netrc?

machine <ESX host IP> login root password <ESX host password>

Ja vi alguns usuarios substituindo o password ali em cima pelo ESX 
password ao inves de adicionar ao lado.
