Yes. We invested a lot of effort to create a fully functional development environment, similar to production setup.

Sure... if you use[1][2] and follow the instructions, you will be able to install vanilla f18 host and then simply use the "Add Host" functionality of the engine. The engine will deploy the host including vdsm. This is the major improvement of the environment compared to the hacky solutions of the past.

It is relatively new and changing, so any feedback will be appreciated.
