>From a license perspective you can only run OSX on apple hardware.
So for example you can run VMware Fusion, VirtualBox, Parallels, etc on MacOSX.
VMware does have experimental support for installing ESX on Apple hardware.

This hasn't (formally) been done for KVM.
There were some patches flying around a few years ago that tweaked the emulation to expose some Mac friendly devices including the systems management chip but these didn't go into mainline.

In theory it could be done - even on non-Apple hardware (license issues aside) especially with the newer device emulation (q35) that we have in modern qemu
