it has a (formal) dependency on the guest agent in 3.5 as well. So to declare it properly we'd need more work than just few lines to osinfo

many things has high urgency, it's not the highest:)
the backport is really simple though. Maybe Shahar can help, I'm sure if you, Sven, can help with a verification on 3.4 it's a no brainer...
