In the original mail I explained it could help interacting with those VMs though I raised my doubts about it,
Using external VMs will still provide the engine th ability to interact with those running VMs, though you will only be able to see and stop them.
I guess, if you don't want to use the engine, a better alternative is to use the vdsClient as Douglas proposed.
