Yes that is the document i have been looking at, unfortunately i am still
pretty new to the ovirt/gluster world. But both seem like the would be a
great fit for our goals.

That approach is called hyper-converged.
With 4.0 is still somehow bleeding edge and not recommended for a production
env; a stable solution will come quite early.
