P.S.: Just checked couple other things and still can't get it working:
* there is fedora 28 package for ovirt-imageio-proxy (it did not help with existing
installation, that's what I meant in my previous mail) does not help much for fresh
installations either: engine-setup does not care
* tried enabling the service from that package by hand, refuses to start:
ovirt-imageio-proxy.service - oVirt ImageIO Proxy

I agree. There's also no mention of it in README.adoc, which is where the
