Callum, If you are seeing the error when opening the console from VM Portal (web-ui), this sounds a lot like issue [1]. A patch against the ovirt REST api was done to help mitigate some errors that should not happen. I'll take a look to see how it is working in the current master snapshot of ovirt-engine and VM Portal. What version of oVirt are you using? Thanks Greg, it really would be great to resolve this and would really like to not have to clean install the engine on a new hostname (especially without a guarantee that it will work). Migrating is a significant portion of work.
