Hello,
I was wondering if there are any upgrade documents available for
upgrading to gluster 4.1 with oVirt 4.2.
I think oVirt expects the Gluster/NFS server to be available. This
service has been dropped from Gluster in version 4 and has been replaced
with the more featured NFS-server from the NFS-Ganesha project.
I remember that there have been discussions about replacing the
dependency in oVirt, but I do not know what plan and timeline came out
of it. IIRC it was not a trivial change, but the end-of-life date for
Gluster 3.12 has been known for at least 1.5 years now. The deprecation
of Gluster/NFS has been announced even before that.
My hope is that oVirt can be deployed without NFS-server, and just
consume Gluster FUSE mounts, or the userspace libgfapi interface.
Otherwise it may be needed to configure NFS-Ganesha, and that might be
more difficult (it can do high-availability correctly, as opposed to
Gluster/NFS).
