UI Redesign patch has been merged.

Hi, I have just merged [1] which is a huge patch to update the look and feel of the webadmin UI to be more modern and based on Patternfly. I believe this is a huge step forward for the UI and should hopefully improve the usability and functionality of the UI (it certainly looks better). There are a bunch of follow up patches that once merged will make the UI look like [2]. It might take a few days for all of these patches to get into master. There are more enhancements planned to the usability of the UI as part of the overhaul process. As always, if there are any issues or comments let me know and I will be sure to address them ASAP. Alexander ps. You will have to clear your browser cache to get some of the formatting to look right. [1] https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/75669/ [2] http://imgur.com/a/JX0iG

Thanks Alex. It looks great! After a while of using the new design I feel it would be nice to have context actions available not only on the list view but also on entity detail. It feels natural for me to click on the entity I want to works with, and after examining some details to perform an action. For example start a VM, put Host to maintenance, or edit a Cluster. Is there any plan to make actions of context menu of entity listings available also in entity detail page? Regards. Jakub, thanks, yes, in fact I am working with the UXD team on exactly that right now. The details not having the actions available will be one of the first things I will work on after I get my patch train all merged. Alexander

Excellent work, Alex! Most of the patches are already in, just a couple remaining: https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/q/status:open+topic:ui-redesign Greg also fixed a memory leak caused by GWT-Platform framework bug: https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/78025/ As Jakub pointed out, replacing the "main & sub tab" concept with "main (grid) view leading to details (tabbed) view" impacts existing UI workflows, and the "entity actions available only from the main view" is one of them. I remember this being discussed with UXD and it makes perfect sense to have those actions available in details view as well, we'll improve that. All of the initial patches are in! Yay. We have found some issues already and I am working hard on fixing them ASAP. But the state of master should match the screenshots now.
