VDSM sync meeting minutes December 9th, 2014

- Everybody should review Piotr's http://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/q/status:open+project:vdsm+branch:master+topic:sch... and approve the API of their respective component. Francesco: virt Nir: storage Adam: live{merge, snapshot}, mother patch Ido: network - Nir suggest to generate API from schema (or vice versa) instead of verifying that the duplicated API definition is consistent. Adam agrees that API.py can go away; but that Piotr's work is helpful sanity check for the short term. - F21 needs testing. Petr Horacek reports that vdsmd works exteremely slowly when started via systemd on Fedora 21. Please report to this list if you have good/bad experience with it. - el6 nearing its end of support. clusterLevel 3.6 features would be limitted to el7. - Adam suggests to tag legacy code with # REQUIRED_FOR: el6 Or # REQUIRED_FOR: engine-3.0 So it is easier to find and drop when we remove support of legacy platform or legacy client. - Nir and Federico to review Amador's iscsiadm.iface_list() http://gerrit.ovirt.org/35807 and follow-up patches. This seems odd to me, as it's not really correct, engine-3.5 would be more correct, wouldn't it? -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Regards Sven Kieske Systemadministrator Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. That was just an example. We have code that is needed only for ancient engines (_report_legacy_bondings comes to mind). It was suggested to mark such code with an explicit label, instead of free text or git history.
