oVirt on el6 and novcn rpm from epel
Hi All, two days ago novnc rpm has been retired from EPEL-6 [1]. We have a dependencies from it and some user is already complaining he cannot install oVirt 3.5.0 on Centos 6.6. The reason seams a broken deps on openstack-nova-novncproxy-0.4-2.el6.noarch [2] [1] - https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/novnc/ [2] - http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/novnc.git/commit/?h=el6 What should we do? a. include and maintain it on our repo b. find somebody else to maintain on EPEL-6 c. release the dependencies if not really needed ciao, Simone

Bringing this up again. As said, novnc has been dropped from EPEL 6 as obsolete. Looking at koji[1], it looks that nobody is actively maintaining the Fedora and the EPEL 7 package since it's still in version 0.4 there while upstream is now on 0.5.1[2]. We need to consider: 1) taking ownership of EPEL and Fedora packages and keep it maintained so we can keep NoVNC feature. 2) package it ourselves inside oVirt repo for our needs only 3) drop NoVNC feature[3] In 3.5 zstream it seams we have no choice but go with 2 on EL6 package.
