Both /home/mburns and /home/mburns/.ssh had incorrect directory
permissions. Mike had just run an rsync operation, which worked, and
then he couldn't ssh in. Perhaps something in rsync changed the
directory permissions? Or the rsync was run from a higher level than
you are used to, and it synced over your localhost directory
permissions? What are those, fwiw?

I was working remotely from Japan last week and ran the rsync from a lab
machine that I ssh into all the time, so I don't know what the problem
was. It's working again now and I'll make sure I rsync to a lower level
directory in the future.
