Resize iSCSI LUN and Storage Domain

Hi all, I have an iSCSI Storage Domain for VMs and need to increase storage. To do this, I increased the size of LUN on iscsi storage server and tried to refresh the size of Storage Domain as per https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/administration_guide/index.html#Increasi... "*Refreshing the LUN Size" section* I cannot see the "Additional Storage Size" column or any other option to refresh the LUN size. What am I missing here? Kind regards, Shantur

If I wish to resize an non-Ovirt iSCSI LUN I would: - resize the block paths pointing to the iSCSI LUN - resize the multipathd device that was aggregated I guess you can give it a try. Since you have a storage domain using this LUN, you need to follow the instructions for "Increasing an Existing iSCSI or FCP Storage Domain". The "Refreshing the LUN Size" section is for increating a LUN which is not part of the storage domain. When you open the "Manage domain" dialog, oVirt performs SCSI rescan which should discover the new size of the LUN. Then oVirt check if the multipath map matches the size of the LUN, and if not it will resize the map to fit the LUN. Finally it shows a button to resize the PV on top of the multipath device. When you select this button and confirm, oVirt will resize the PV, which will resize the VG. Nir

When increasing the f.s. since on any LUN you need to also extend the file system. You will not see the extra space until you resize your file system and extend it to accommodate the new space. On Mon., Aug. 9, 2021, 2:36 p.m. Nir Soffer, <nsoffer@redhat.com> wrote:

Thanks guys, @Nir I don't get the option to resize the PV. I am not sure where to look to see why it can't see the size change. I have tried to manage the domain in and out of maintenance mode, added another Lun and removed it but no help. Any ideas? Hi Shantur what version of ovirt you are using? what is the storage model? try to perform scan by selecting the storage domain that you have resized at the storage side. if that is not help, add new storage domain and perform discovery one more time and see whether it can be discovered extending the storage domain size can be done in fly, no maintenance required.

Hi Shantur, The "Additional Size" column mentioned was merged with the 'add' column, so the new column is called 'Actions' [1]. (manage domain while the sd is active). There's also an option to refresh the LUNs size while the VM is up and running (available since version 4.4.5) [2]. It also has a short demo for showing the refresh [3] [1] https://gerrit.ovirt.org/c/ovirt-engine/+/84366 <https://gerrit.ovirt.org/c/ovirt-engine/+/112783> [2] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1155275 [3] https://imgur.com/a/Rjid65i *Regards,* *Shani Leviim* On Tue, Aug 24, 2021 at 12:59 PM dhanaraj.ramesh--- via Users < users@ovirt.org> wrote:

I am using 4.4.5 and I tried all that but couldn't get it to work. In the end I created another storage domain and moved all VMs to it. @shani : Thanks for that. On Tue, Aug 24, 2021 at 2:07 PM Shani Leviim <sleviim@redhat.com> wrote:
