Nvme over fabric array support through OVirt MANAGED_BLOCK_STORAGE Domain

for an NVMe over fabric storage array that supports Cinder backend plugin, is it possible to use MANAGED_BLOCK_STORAGE domain to configure Virtual disk? in this case, is it required to have a single Virtual disk accessible from all the VDSM hosts (within the cluster) to support VM migration? Thanks, Amit

Hi, Do you have a link to the documentation of the Cinder driver you want to use? You will need to have the disks available on all the hosts on the DC in order to be able to migrate the VM. You can configure the hosts that the VM can run on if you want to enable only specific hosts. Note that this feature is still on tech preview and only a limited set of drivers has been tested. Also, there are manual installation steps that you will need to do: https://ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/storage/cinderlib-inte... Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for the quick reply, will give it a try. Regards, Amit

If there is a backend driver available it should work. We did not test this though, so it would be great to get bug reports if you had any trouble Upon VM migration the disk should be automatically connected to the target host (and disconnected from the origin).
