Greetings all :) I'm wondering if oVirt supports the feature that VMware does, which is in VMware land is called SDRS [1]. The idea is simple and I'm sure you all aware of it. You have a "cluster" of storage domains, the engine monitors the backend storage domains and auto balances the VMs across the storage domains based on IO latency and disk usage. If not, how are others out there managing this? One could manually balance, but that's clearly not ideal. [1]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z77xmaxoNec -- Divan Santana https://divansantana.com

Hi Shani, SDRS in vSphere is not for DIsaster Recovery but for dynamic (transparent) storage vmotion of the disks of VMs, to efficiently balance the usage of the pool of storage resources available. So the system can be in manual mode (and only suggest you the kind of storage vmotion to execute to have efficient usage), or in automatic mode. Hi Divan,
Hi Shani,
Yes, there is: https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/disaster_recovery_guide/
Thanks but I think you misunderstanding my question. The requirement and description in my initial mail is not met by the disaster recovery features and documentation. You are welcome to watch the video on what VMware Storage DRS that I posted if you want to learn what it does.
