moVirt 2.0 RC 1 released!

Hia, the first RC of moVirt 2.0 has been released! You can get it from our GitHub [1]; the play store will be upgraded after considered stable. The main feature of this release is a support for managing multiple oVirt installations from one moVirt. Other changes: - actions/lists/dashboard are now filtered by selecting accounts/clusters in the left drawer - event lists now correctly working for single vm, host, etc.. - better syncing and network detection - cleaner ui design and connection settings - enhanced security and support for certificates (import from file) - sorting and filtering made more usable - more descriptive errors - other small enhancements and bug fixes We would greatly appreciate if you could try it and share your feedback with us. [2] Let us know about any suggestions you might have; and as usual, patches are also welcome :) Have a great day Filip [1]: https://github.com/oVirt/moVirt/releases/download/v2.0-rc1/moVirt-release.ap... Nice! Do I have to deinstall current one to test it or can I install both versions together? Gianluca

you can have only one version installed... On 15 Jun 2017 5:25 pm, "Gianluca Cecchi" <gianluca.cecchi@gmail.com> wrote:

...but Filip have opened an issue so you can have the non-stable releases installed next to stable ones: https://github.com/oVirt/moVirt/issues/280 We can do this for the next release.

Right now I installed it only on my smartphone (Samsung S7 with Android 7.0) and was able to connect to a single host, hosted engine environment based on oVirt 4.1. The speed of actions inside application seems quite good! Even connected through VPN to a slow link, but passing from one information to the other was quite immediate... very nice! What tested: - VM powered off, I power on it and I see its events section populated only by the new power on event - verified spice console (both with a VM in text mode and one with graphic display) - verified create snapshot and delete snapshot for a powered on VM So far so good. I'm going to install also to a tablet with access to more than one environment and test connection to 2 different infrastructures... Thanks, Gianluca

Hi, I tested moVirt as well on Android version 7.0 , The tests performed are: - Multiple engine functionality tests - Network and connection tests - Vms basic functional actions: start, restart, stop, Migration, snapshot, triggers - Data correctness Tests for: VMs, Hosts, Storage Domains, Dashboards - Scale and performance test on environment included 300 VMs - Screen Rotations test - Movirt features : Triggers, scan code, Sync action The version looks great and is definitely ready for release!
