[RFC] Usage of Bootstrap Switch (http://www.bootstrap-switch.org/) for plugins ginger new ui developments

Hi All, I would like propose the use of Bootstrap Switch (https://github.com/nostalgiaz/bootstrap-switch) for showing checkbox/radio element in form of switch button .This toggle switch can be used for showing status of certain component in form of switch and trigger action based on the current state. Official Github location of Bootstrap Switch implementation is @ https://github.com/nostalgiaz/bootstrap-switch. Bootstrap Switch code is of license type MIT so I guess it can be used safely. Please feel free to comment on this topic and have your opinion. Thanks & Regards, Atreyee

Hi Atreye, I have nothing against its use but it's better to see Samuel's input about it. It might result in changes in WoK which would affect all plug-ins. Thanks, Daniel On 12/21/2015 10:05 AM, Atreye Mukhopadhyay wrote:

Hi Atreye, Are you proposing it to be include on Wok? How much better it that library in comparison to the current check boxes and radio boxes widgets provided by Wok? Regards, Aline Manera On 12/21/2015 10:05 AM, Atreye Mukhopadhyay wrote:

It is good to provide example on what the library will be able to do and the benefits it provides. On 12/22/2015 11:15 AM, Aline Manera wrote:

Hi team, Boot grid Switch provide toggle switch with on and off representations. It basically gives user nice experience in enabling or disabling certain feature. We thought of using this feature in the networking pages development to enable/disable IPv4 or IPv6 feature's. Let me try to paste the screen shot of toggle switch look and feel. URL of the official page which might give more information and have look and feel of the boot grid switch. http://www.bootstrap-switch.org/ Thanks and Regards Chandra On 22/12/15 6:50 PM, Aline Manera wrote:

Hi team, Although the toggle checkboxes may look nice and easier to customize than the default checkboxes (we currently use some work-arounds to style them), I don't know how far this change could improve usability. In fact I believe in some cases this style confuses users. Please check this: http://ux.stackexchange.com/questions/63884/checkbox-vs-toggle If we use this style, we would have to change the labels as the second answer to this topic suggests. Even in Ginger network configurations windows I don't think it is a good idea to use the toggle switch (https://github.com/kimchi-project/ginger/files/25667/NetworkMockups.pdf) Regards, Samuel -----Original Message----- From: kimchi-devel-bounces@ovirt.org [mailto:kimchi-devel-bounces@ovirt.org] On Behalf Of Aline Manera Sent: terça-feira, 22 de dezembro de 2015 11:20 To: Atreye Mukhopadhyay <atreyee@linux.vnet.ibm.com>; kimchi-devel@ovirt.org Subject: Re: [Kimchi-devel] [RFC] Usage of Bootstrap Switch (http://www.bootstrap-switch.org/) for plugins ginger new ui developments It is good to provide example on what the library will be able to do and the benefits it provides. Hi Samuel, I also prefer to stay with the default checkboxes (Usability, Space). Jan On 01/04/2016 11:32 AM, Samuel Henrique De Oliveira Guimaraes wrote:
