[Users] Adding Gluster support after the fact.

I initially installed oVirt without Gluster management support. Now I want to add it in. What is the best method for doing this? I tried running engine-cleanup and then engine-setup to add it in that way. But the only thing I accomplished was to hose my install. Now that I have recovered from that, I still want to add this. Any help would be appreciated. -- *NADA Convention & Expo*: January 24-27, 2014 - New Orleans, LA - Booth 5001 <http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/advertising-agencies/citytwist-in-boca-raton-fl-90033448><http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/advertising-agencies/citytwist-in-boca-raton-fl-90033448>

It will install the gluster bits and you'll be able to add volumes.

Recommended way is to select 'Both' for 'ApplicationMode' during engine-setup. But if you want to do this after engine-setup, you need to tweak a database entry. You could find an option_name called 'ApplicationMode' in the vdc_options table, change the value of the field to 255, then restart ovirt-engine service. Now you should able to manage both virt and gluster in oVirt.
Just set check the gluster checkbox on the cluster edit page, put the node/host into maintenance and reinstall it. It will install the gluster bits and you'll be able to add volumes.
This is possible only if oVirt is installed in 'Both' (Virt+Gluster) mode. Thanks, Kanagaraj

Hello! I have installed from iso ovirt-node-iso-3.1.0-0.999.201310020841draft.vdsm.fc19.iso in " Both " mode. When I try to check the gluster checkbox on the cluster edit page, then put the node in mainenance mode an try to Reinstall I get "There are no ISO versions that are compatible with the Host's current version." Hi, no, when talking about "both" mode the ovirt-engine (management node) setup was the targeted installation. if you did not install the engine in "both" mode, you need to tweak the DB or reinstall. HTH Am 29.10.2013 09:36, schrieb Gabi C:

Hello! Sorry, I was unclear about my instalation: so my management node is Fedora 19 with Ovirt-stables and ovirt-updates-testing repos enabled installed with 'Both' - to be sure I 'grep' ed in ovirt-engine-setup 'ApplicationMode' and got 'select fn_db_add_config_value('ApplicationMode','255','general');' ; my 2 hosts (nodes) are virt-node-iso-3.1.0-0.999.201310020841draft.vdsm.fc19.iso. and the problem is as described in my previous message. hmmm, I'm not sure if ovirt-node has gluster in it out of the box or not. can you try a regular fedora/centos/rhel host? thanks, Itamar
