Please take a look at '/etc/sysconfig/readonly-root' and '/etc/rwtab'. They seem to do exactly what we need without having to add our own unit files. They also add the interesting possibility to move things from disk to RAM on boot. Will this just empty the cache or it may negatively affect the slave?
