eyal edri created OVIRT-1587:
--------------------------------
Summary: Do we need the arch(a)ovirt.org list?
Key: OVIRT-1587
URL: https://ovirt-jira.atlassian.net/browse/OVIRT-1587
Project: oVirt - virtualization made easy
Issue Type: Task
Reporter: eyal edri
Assignee: infra
[~duck][~ederevea] any idea if this list is used or needed?
I keep getting spam alerts on it, and it doesn't seem to be used by anyone,
So I'm in favor in disabling it for the time being and rejecting option to subscribe if no one objects.

[JIRA] (OVIRT-1586) Make plain http default at resources.ovirt.org
by Barak Korren (oVirt JIRA)
Barak Korren commented on OVIRT-1586:
-------------------------------------
Any self respecting project has a good looking page listing releases and downloadable packages. I don't think we should flush that baby with the bathwater. We can consider doing this differently by branding the index pages that Apache yields instead of using the PHP script we currently use.
I actually wonder why does reposync fail to work with resources.ovirt.org, the index display should not matter to it at all, since its only supposed to be downloading the repo metadata files. We need to check if the graphical UI blocks access to those, and see if we can make it not do that.
Also changign the title of the ticket because its misleading, "plain HTTP" sounde like its as opposed to "HTTPS". While what is meant here is using plain *HTML INDEX* pages as opposed to the AJAX UI.

> To avoid confusion from users of repoman (mostly extra sources in OST, we should consider default resources.ovirt.org as plain http, and redirect the UI to ui.resources.ovirt.org
